We may have just found the winner of American Idol 2011! Lauren Alaina, who is just 15 years old, blew everyone away at her audition. For more details on the Hollywood bound contestant, with photos and the audition video, keep reading below.
Nashville is where the show found it?s biggest winner ever, Carrie Underwood. As soon as the teenager started singing Faith Hill?s ?Like We Never Loved at All? the judges started to think they may have found this year?s star.
Before she started singing we got a little back story on the high school student. She is inspired by her cousin who survived cancer and encouraged her to try out. I can?t believe she never thought of it before, because the next winner may be Lauren Alaina. She was the last contestant of the American Idol 2011 Nashville auditions and this is one instance where the best was saved for last. After she received three yes?s she brought her family in to meet the judges and to sing a duet with Steven Tyler.
It was awesome and I am still amazed. It is interesting though that the first year 15 year olds are allowed to compete, they find one who may be able to go all the way. She is also from the same city where 22 year old (at the time) Carrie Underwood first amazed the judges. This has some people wondering if the whole thing was staged or planned. Either way the girl has a big voice and the judges had this to say about it:
Randy said, ?Best we?ve seen today ? I?m blown away.? Steven Tyler said (about her trying not to tear up) ?I think you should cry, because you?re going to make 40 million people cry tears of joy, baby.?
