FOX has found themself another Gleek: Elton John. He took the time on Thursday?s episode of ?Late Night With Jimmy Fallon? to slam bands who have denied ?Glee? producers use of their songs on the show. He said, ?A lot of bands are saying we don?t want our stuff on ?Glee.? Like, lighten up, you a**holes! I mean, this is a compliment. [The show] sends a positive message out. What the hell is wrong with you guys? ? Kings of Leon, lighten up guys. Come on!?
Kings of Leon, is among the groups, along with the Foo Fighters and Guns N? Roses, who have refused to let their songs be used on the award-winning show. ?Glee? stars Lea Michele and Cory Monteith covered John?s hit song, ?Don?t Go Breaking My Heart? on the show at the beginning of this season and ?American Idol? honored his music earlier this week. John insists he enjoys hearing other people covering his songs, even if they aren?t the best versions.
He added, ?It?s so great when people do your songs. I started off as a songwriter, so even now, when I get into an elevator and there?s muzak and it?s one of my songs, I feel really happy about it because it?s a compliment when someone does one of your songs. It doesn?t matter if it?s a bad version. ? I?ve never lost that thrill.?
