Idol Contestant James Durbin Takes a Stab at Michael Jackson

Last night on American Idol, contestant James Durbin took a controversial stab at Michael Jackson and Pepsi.�� After his performance, host Ryan Seacrest asked him what he was the most nervous about. Durbin responded with, ?I have a lot of hairspray in my hair to keep it from jumping around ? so much so, the one thing I was worried about was having a ?Pepsi moment.?

Durbin was referencing the 1984 incident when Michael Jackson?s hair caught on fire while filming a Pepsi commercial.� His scalp burnt and the drugs he took to help it are what eventually led to his drug addiction, then finally his death.���Joe Jackson was particularly upset that they didn?t remove this comment from the West Coast showing.

Italy Doesn?t Want The Jersey Shore Cast

In case you haven?t heard ? the fourth season of MTV?s Jersey Shore is set to start shooting it?s fourth season in Italy pretty soon but it looks like Snooki, The Situation and the rest of the cast are already getting a frosty reception from the locals.

The show only started airing in Italy yesterday and it has already received a ton of backlash because of how the guidos and guidettes and represent a bad stereotype of Italians. One writer says ?they embody the worst stereotypes of Italians, multiplied by thousands and Americanized.?

One person even went as far to say ?when I see this, I wonder whether Osama Bin Laden had a point.? Obviously he is taking it a bit to extreme to say that the cast make America deserving of a terrorist attack.

None of this is affecting the cast though who are looking forward to going over to Italy and partying it up, where one club owner said he will definitely let them in. I can?t say I?m surprised they?re looking forward to it though, they are making well over $10,000 an episode as well as getting a free holiday to Italy.

Do you think the Italians are right to be pissed off with the cast and not wanting them in their country or do you think they are taking it a bit too extreme with their opinions?

They used to say a tattoo was forever. But thanks to modern technology, those etchings and messages intended to represent everlasting love can now be removed as easily as hearts can be broken. Eva Longoria appears to know a little something of the subject ? the actress stepped out for dinner in Los Angeles last night with her famous wedding date tattoo noticeably absent from her wrist. It is currently unclear whether Eva, who turned 36 last week, has gone through with laser treatment to have the Roman numerals VII VII MMVII permanently removed, or if she is just testing the waters with some clever make-up. The Desperate Housewives star stepped out to dine at her restaurant Beso with friends in a shimmering grey Heartloom dress. Where her tattoo ? the date 07/07/07 used to be, her wrist appeared ink-free and bare. Tattoo removal rarely sees immediate results, with most patients undergoing several treatments with the ink fading over time. And just last week, the tattoo was visible while Eva toasted her birthday at Eve nightclub in Las Vegas ? leaving a question mark over if this is a permanent removal or temporary fix.

See folks, this is why you should NEVER get a tattoo of a name or anything relationship-related. Not only is getting such a tattoo the kiss of death for the relationship but it also means a very painful future of tattoo removal treatments. It would make sense if Eva did get the tattoo lasered off ? after all, why would she want to be reminded of the wedding date of her failed marriage? I guess we?ll have to wait and see if the tattoo is really gone for good.

A new superbug is devouring patients in the US and Israel according to a report by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The study claims that 350 people have died as a result of the drug-resistant bacteria (akin to MRSA which has been tearing up hospitals in the UK for years).

�

My biggest problem with the study is that it doesn?t indicate what length of time the observations were carried out over, so the figure of 350 deaths is a little misleading. At least it doesn?t mention zombies staggering about eating people?s faces in a bid to feel better about their own, rotting shortcomings. And thank god; who wants to see them shuffling about, moaning and oozing, knocking things over and generally ruining the neighbourhood like a bunch of smelly American Idol fans? Not me for sure.

So what is this superbug anyway? Well, it?s technical name is Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE (thank GOD I don?t have to write that again)) and it is a form of micro-bacteria that is immune to drug treatments and most anti-bacterial agents making it incredibly dangerous to patients with prolonged or chronic illness, as well as those with invasive devices such as catheters.

�

Finding information in simple terms about CRE has proved incredibly difficult and the only literature available seems to be high level medical journals and theses. The CDC website has a section on CRE but nowhere does it actually say where the bug came from or how it suddenly became such a problem.

�

Hold on zombie fans, you could be in luck yet because here?s where we get to explore some ideas.

�

Conspiracy theorists (nuts) would probably like to imagine that the bug is man-made and is part of the huge population cull that secret world leaders have been threatening for centuries. Of course they haven?t done it yet because their ?Evil Villain? patter isn?t quite up to scratch or they haven?t got the world?s attention, despite some ?news? outlets claiming that the New World Order does all its business right out in the open.

�

I won?t hold my breath waiting for the great cull to happen as speculation is about as valid as a research article that doesn?t give a time scale.

�

So what else could it be?

�

According to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Enterobacteriaceae is a commonly found family of bacteria which lives in soil and water. CRE describes strains that have become resistant to antibiotics (in much the same way that rats have become immune to certain poisons) and because they are found in hospitals they have become a major health concern.

�

VDH state that it is treatable but patients in intensive care are probably at the greatest risk of death as a result of the bacteria finding its way into the body. Due to the small number of antibiotics that can effectively deal with CRE it is hard to stem its potency.

�

The bacteria can spread from patient to patient via skin contact, for instance on the hands of care workers or nurses; and hospitals take special care to ensure any instances of outbreaks are isolated as quickly as possible.

�

CRE has been attributed to pneumonia, bladder, bloodstream and kidney infections.

�

Ok so that puts the zombie-retro-virus theory out of the picture. Sorry conspiracy theorists; better luck next time.

But a rep for Bell has played down the wedding stories, insisting the actress often refers to Shepard as her husband. Shepard proposed to the actress at the end of 2009, after two years of dating. Britney Going On Tour With Enrique!

To celebrate the official release of her seventh album, ?Femme Fatale,? Britney Spears announced on ?Good Morning America? that she will be going on a North American tour with Enrique Iglesias.

The ?Hero? singer is currently touring Europe to support his latest album, ?Euphoria,? which features songs in both Spanish and English. As he co-headlines with Spears in the upcoming tour, he will carry a full production.

Spear?s last tour grossed $95 million and had more than 1 million ticket buyers, making it the seventh-highest grossing tour in the world for that year, Billboard Boxscore states.
�
The tour will be produced by Live Nation and begins June 17 in Sacramento, playing 26 venues in the first round of dates. More dates will most likely be added to the schedule. Tickets will be available at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com, with pre-sale options open to Citi cardmembers.

It?s always a good to idea to nab the Hollywood greats to draw viewers in, and that?s exactly what Lifetime did for their upcoming enterprise, ?Project Five.?

It was recently announced that Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore and Alicia Keys have signed on to direct five short flicks.

Each short will be an anthology that explores the impact of breast on people?s lives and filming will reportedly begin in the several weeks.

?Our hope with Project Five is to entertain, inform and inspire dialogue, research and prevention. Otherwise, our goals are small,? Aniston said in a statement. ?We want these films to move people and empower those affected by breast cancer to stand tall through this challenge, which impacts ALL of our lives, no matter who we are.?

Angelina Jolie Launching Perfume Line?

Stunning Angelina Jolie is reportedly in talks to launch her own line of signature scents. The Oscar winner is working out the details with French fragrance house Coty (which recently helped create Sarah Jessica Parker?s perfume) to design her own line of products.

"Angelina wants a very strong input," a source tells Britain's The Mail. "She wouldn?t want a fragrance that she didn?t feel encapsulates her."

Having a perfume line has proven to be a lucrative endeavor for many celebrities. Other stars who have their own super-successful perfumes include Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani.

Given Jolie's unrivaled star power today, it's likely her fragrances will rake in tons of cash. The venture would enable Jolie to continue supporting her many charitable causes. Jolie, 33, is a U.N. Ambassador who reportedly donates one-third of her income to charity.

Angie, a mom of four, is expecting fraternal twins with partner Brad Pitt, 44, this summer. In addition to the blockbuster animated film, Kung Fu Panda (which is in theaters now), Jolie has a movie coming out June 27: the action thriller, Wanted, in which she portrays an assassin.

For those who criticize her decision to play a vigilante, Jolie says, "The idea behind Wanted is not that she's a bad-ass assassin that just likes to kill people. It's that, if you ran into Hitler before he did everything, and you knew, should you shoot him? I would. These assassins are getting lists: They find out who is going to slaughter other people ahead of time and they remove them."

Jolie?who says she wouldn't hesitate to shoot anyone who tries to harm her kids?adds: "It is a confusing thing, certainly for rights activists. Don't read too much into it. I am holding a gun, but there are so many people that have done so many horrible things."�

Just as the hype of the Oscars ? which saw Natalie Portman pick up an award for her portrayal of a psychotic ballerina in Darren Aronofsky?s Black Swan ? is finally settling down, professional dancer and body double Sarah Lane is turning it up a notch again by claiming that Natalie only performed in 5% of the full body scenes.

Sarah Lane, 27, is saying that she is the victime of a ?cover up? and that viewers have been misled into thinking that Natalie transformed herself into a prima ballerina. While just a few days ago Benjamin Millipied, Black Swan choreographer and now also the star?s fiancee claimed that ?85 percent of the movie is Natalie?, Lane� has something quite different to say: ?Of the full body shots, I would say five per cent are Natalie. All the other shots are me.?

The American Ballet Theater soloist went on to say that for many fo the dance sequences, Natalie?s face was digitally placed on her body. ?The shots that are just her face with arms, those shots are definitely Natalie?, Lane said. ?But that doesn?t show the actual dancing.?

?They wanted to create this idea in people?s minds that Natalie was some kind of prodigy or so gifted in dance and really worked so hard to make herself a ballerina in a year and a half or the movie, basically because of the Oscar.

?It is demeaning to the profession and just to me. I?ve been doing this for 22 years? Can you become a concert pianist in a year an a half, even if you?re a movie star??

Lane, who received no mention in Natalie?s Oscar speech and is only named as an extra in the film?s credits, let out some more steam by saying, ?from a professional dancer?s standpoint, she doesn?t look like a professional ballet dancer at all and she can?t dance in pointe shoes. And she can?t move her body, she?s very stiff.?

But, let?s remember one thing. Natalie is not a professional dancer. She is an actress. And in interviews she has been very open about using a body double for major sequences. ?I do have a double for the complicated turning stuff,? Natalie told EW last November. ?It was not anything I ever could have done in a year, nothing I could?ve caught up with. But I think it was just better for all of us if I did as much as possible.?

The question remains, just how much was that? On the heels of Lane?s claims, the filmmakers released the following statement: ?We were fortunate to have Sarah there to cover the more complicated dance sequences and we have nothing but praise for the hard work she did. However, Natalie herself did most of the dancing featured in the final film.?

I guess Google is still the best and most reliable search engine to date. Yahoo and Bing have been merged to let it down but no avail so far. Even Yahoo launched Search Direct a feature similar to Google Instant but analysis reveals that Google is still the best one with latest info.

Kung Fu Panda

It's hard not to like Kung Fu Panda even though there have been many smarter animation films recently. It tells the story of an overweight panda Po (voiced by Jack Black) who works for his father in a noodle shop, but secretly yearns to be a kung fu fighter.

Which is why he climbs up thousands of steps to the ancient temple where the Dragon Warrior will be chosen to face off against the dreaded villain Tai Lung who is believed to be planning his escape from an Alcatraz-like prison.

Dustin Hoffman lends his voice to Kung fu guru Master Shifu who lines up five of his best students before the temple master for his selection. Shifu's "Furious Five" comprise Monkey, Tigress, Mantis, Viper and Crane, all highly skilled fighters who could crack open your skull with one deadly move. Yet, as luck would have it, the temple master picks none of them, but roly-poly Po instead to be the Dragon Warrior.

Naturally what ensues are a series of laugh-out-loud moments as this hopeless panda with a total lack of skill is trained in the art of kung fu.

The film is an easy watch, enjoyable even, despite its formulaic 'against-all-odds' theme.

The real fun in Kung Fu Panda comes from the action scenes which are packed with energy and full of crazy little moments that'll have you in splits throughout. The all-star-cast voice talent also includes Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie and Lucy Liu, but it's Dustin Hoffman doing his best gruff vocals as Master Shifu who is the finest talent on board.

It's also impossible not to lose your heart to Po, the klutzy, couch-potato panda who gets his attitude from Jack Black's amazing voice intonations. Kung Fu Panda is a visually stunning film whose animation is part-computer generated part-hand drawn, it's the kind of photorealistic 3-D animation that makes characters and locations come alive because they're so intricately detailed and fantastically executed.
