Bauhaus The Archiv, Not The Band
The TV Guide
As David?s and my stay in Berlin is coming to a close we hit a bit of bad luck last night. David, unfortch, wasn?t feeling well yesterday day and then got really sick last night :( The only thing he could do, really, was sleep. I went out for a late dinner with our friend Mark and then we went to a party at NBI so that was my night last night. Today, David still wasn?t well enough to get out of bed so he stayed home while I met our friend Arthur at the Bauhaus Archiv museum. I had a great day but, yeah, poor David is still feeling a bit under the weather :(
The Bauhaus Archiv is set up as a museum of all aspects of the Bauhaus movement (ie. the school in Germany that combined crafts and the fine arts, and was famous for the approach to design that it publicized and taught) including art, architecture, photography, etc. Basically, the Bauhaus movement is responsible for all of the clean lined things we see in modern design stores like Ikea. The museum is really fascinating but not really that big. Arthur and I spent a little over an hour there and got to take it all in pretty entirely. Today was a very great, very German day.
On my way back from the museum, I came upon this fantastically gay proud Berlin bear:
I mean ? I just love this city so much. I futzed around the city on my own before I made David get out of our apartment and go out for lunch. I think he?s starting to feel better so I?m hopefully he?ll be up for a late dinner tonight.
Tomorrow is our last full day here in Berlin ? and I am really sad about it. We?ve been having the time of our lives and I really don?t want it to end. BUT, it ain?t over yet so ? I?m gonna enjoy the city as much as I can, while I still can ;)
